Team Form

Germany’s defence was not at its usual best and they were vulnerable to electrical Mexican counter attacks. If Mexican were a little more precise in front of the goal, Germany might have suffered a bigger loss. Toni Kroos was very effectively cut off by players always marking him and cutting down his passing options. Ozil and Khedira were also not up to the mark and playing Muller on the flanks instead of upfront didn’t work either.

Sweden was really impressive in their game against South Korea but they have a big challenge in front of them. Germans will come into the game with all guns blazing and big points to prove. Sweden will have to restrict the passing lanes for Kroos to exploit. He is one of the best players for Germany and every attacking move goes through him.

Swedes have a good outing against South Korea with everyone having a very good game. Andreas Granqvist led his team from the front and had a brilliant game and also scored the winner in the 65th minute from the spot after Claesson was brought down inside the box.

Squad News

Sweden’s defence was rock solid against South Korea and they will need to replicate the same performance or maybe even better to keep Muller, Reus, Werner, Ozil and Kroos in check. Sweden is most likely to enter the game with the same squad.
